If you have a penchant for Terroir this one is "closer to the soil" than most and it is only about 3.20 Euro.

There are lots of locals who make their own rustic wine which puts you in touch with the flavour of the region in no uncertain manner. Ladeira da Alegrete Tinto is by no means a rustic wine but I can't help thinking of the many a "copo de vinho" from friends near the Quinta.

This one has no date so it is a blend of wines from more than one vintage.

What it says on the label.

Quote openLadeira da Alegrete is a red wine designed on the basis of a selection of grapes: Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira varieties from our vineyards of Serra of S. Mamede.

The altitude is a decisive factor and brings elegance to the wine. In the mouth, it is very soft and attractive and has a long persistence of flavour.Quote close
